Does the FCC monitor print journalism?

A couple of years ago, CBS aired a "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl. The FCC demanded that CBS and any other broadcast station get fined for airing "offensive material."

In recent months, Ellen Goodman had an editorial to discuss briefly a female fashion editor for the Washington Post, I believe, who went on and on about Hilary Clinton's cleavage.

Now, we have Glenn McCoy who tells us how Clinton's cleavage became what it is, dirty Chinese money.

Over the top nastiness, right? Does the FCC have the right to fine newspapers that publish this sort of cartoon because of its "offensive" content?

Great blog, and I agree with everything you say, but shouldn’t we wait until after Christmas to do this, that way less bicycles will be stolen.
