Listen my child...

Sometimes I turn on Celtic Woman, one of my favorite tunes is, I believe, "The Voice." It starts off with "Listen my child." It is edgy and strangely sad and filled with pain. Let us hope the Irish singing group doesn't grouse too heavily if I lift the first phrase of their song with attribution for this latest in political news.

Remember when GW lashed personally into Senator Kerry. Somehow, all of Congress couldn't act or respond on any one issue unless Senator Kerry was somehow calling the shots. GW speaking of Senator Kerry as though he were already commander in chief, mocking and deriding him. That Kerry was already a fellow who could be accused, as a Senator, for all the things GW couldn't manage to do himself. GW in fact, projected his own worst failings on Kerry. Amazing then, that GW barely got the popular vote by some 2 or 3 percentage points. Well, given that GW still hasn't managed to remember past mistakes, he went at it again. Deciding that he knew better how to run Obama's campaign. Uh, Obama has so far gotten 11 straight wins. And Clinton is by no means a shoe in where it concerns the 4 March 2008 primaries. And as David Gergen said, GW can only remind the Dems again just what they despise about him.

So, some personal advice to GW: would you like to have a Republican succeed you in office and keep you from getting the criminal prosecution you so richly deserve? Then I would suggest you concentrate on ending what's left of your presidency with at least some capacity for graciousness and quit trying to screw up McCain's chances for success. Yeah, you remind people again why Dems come off better because they are capable of addressing the issues and you on the other hand, when a reporter asks you about gas prices, it is predicted that the average price for gas will reach 4.00 a gallon, you didn't know that? But the Dems do, and with that they have a good shot at trouncing go along to get along McCain come November.

Seems the Idaho Values "Christian" activist group, managed to discover a "racist" in the local Planned Parenthood clinic. The source for this was found on Huckleberries on-line (Spokesman-Review). Of course, the usual, let's bloody them even further now that they have been presumably kicked to the curb crowd of anti-abortionists on Oliveria's blog passed plenty of judgment. Kendramama (who found herself doing prison time for past drug problems) weighed in as one of those people who rally to drive off customers (make that patients) at the Spokane Planned Parenthood clinic. Repeating what she said on Wayward Episcopalian's blog. I reminded her that her past wasn't exactly pure. Why would I do this? No, I am not about to apologize for reminding people that all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. WWJD? Which happens to be a fave of "Christian" activists. Well, how about reading what Jesus said? He said to those who came to hear him preach that God most certainly would forgive people their debts. But that those forgiven must in turn forgive. The anti-abortion crowd, whether posting to Oliveria's blog or standing out on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood act as though they don't quite get that scripture, or the one where only God can judge. Here is another one about those who's presumably sanctimonious acts are for public recognition. Christ gives an example of charity, public as opposed to anonymous. Or prayer, public as opposed to in the closet. Of the former, they will surely get their reward. But not the reward reserved for those who truly put God first. Are the anti-abortionists putting God first with their public rallies? No, I won't apologize that these people seem to have a hard time following their own bibles.

Breaking news, suburbs in Chicago where a strip mall blew up and no one knows for certain exactly what happened. If an explanation is not forthcoming, what are the prospects that the 6 people injured as a result were victims of domestic terrorism? That was one hell of an explosion that destroyed at least 3 stores in that mall. Were it to prove to have been terrorism, how about other incidents throughout GW's presidency where there was no real official explanation for why chemical plants suddenly exploded and burned week after week, from November of 2001 until January of 2002, as an example. We never did hear about that, did we? Nor did we ever find Mr. Anthrax. Perhaps domestic terrorism has been happening all along and not an official peep about it has ever come from the White House. Yeah, it could be terrorism, where kids in school unexpectedly get sick. People at the Northtown Mall in Spokane, Washington get a whiff of something that makes them ill. It could be terrorism. And what is so amazing is how rigorous the Homeland Security Dept. is at trying to dismiss the notion. If it ain't regarded as terrorism, then there is also no need to investigate what are after all very strange incidents.
